Article Submissions
The increasing traffic on my website has
brought more frequent requests by visitors that their site (or several of the pages on
their site) be added to my OnLine Articles pages (or my HOTLINKS! or TherapistFinders
pages). For this reason, I have felt it necessary to describe some of the criteria that I
use in selecting articles/pages for inclusion -- as I have tried very hard to keep my site
free from "link clutter". For this reason, I can NOT provide Link Exchanges.
Please keep in mind that as you explore my site
that you may find an occasional link that violates the guidelines below. This reflects one
of two things: either the page has changed since I linked to it or I decided to make an
exception due to its content. I am most likely to do the latter for short pages with
significant content pertinent to disasters.
To be added to my OnLine Articles
pages, an article must be 1) full-texted and of significant length so as to deal with the
topic in some depth, 2) be formatted in a way that is suitable for direct linking to the
article itself (NO links will be provided to FRAMED parent pages where the submitted
article is a sublink of that page), and 3) it must be related to trauma (or to
issues that exacerbate or can be exacerbated/triggered by traumatic events).
I generally will NOT provide links to the
following:
testimonials about specific treatment
techniques, programs or therapists
directories of
clinicians or treatment programs
journal abstracts (articles must be
full-text)
reviews of written materials for sale
FAQ pages
short essays (I may make an occasional
exception here depending on the content)
personal stories (unless they are of a
clinical nature and describe an aspect of disaster response (such as at the Olympic
Games) that might be helpful to future responding clinicians)
sites or pages that market a product
or service (I do make an occasional exception here for the purpose of providing Los
Angeles area referral resources and, again, this is at my discretion and limited by
available space and appropriateness to page content).
Please keep in mind that as you explore my site
that you may find an occasional link that violates the guidelines below. This reflects one
of two things: either the page has changed since I linked to it or I decided to make an
exception due to its content. I am most likely to do the latter for short pages with
significant content that pertains to disasters.
If you wish to submit a URL for consideration,
please email
and include the following information:
-
Your name
-
Author's name (if different)
-
URL of the article (I do not
house articles on my site)
-
A brief description of
the article, including where on my site you think it should be listed
Please keep in mind that due to
the time involved in maintaining this site and checking new submissions, I
can NOT always provide a personal reply to your request. |
